tarte flambée

A while ago, my boss gave us a coupon for a free meal at the nearby hotel. So, my colleague and me went there for lunch. We both ordered the same – tarte flambée with smoked salmon and fresh rocket salad. As entree, they served whole wheat baguette with pickles and rillet.

Tarte flambée is a dish from Allemanic France. It is dough rolled out very thin with crème fraîche and typically onions and lardon. It is a crispy and rather light meal.

There are many different variations of tarte flambée, e.g. with smoked salmon and rocket salad (like my lunch), with spinach and goat cheese or with apple and cinnamon.
